"Don't." The word, firm but not harsh, was directed at the other wolf. Nalia shook her head from side to side, blue eyes unusual gentle. She could feel his regret and, though she appreciated that he cared how she felt, she didn't want his regret. "Forget regrets, young Felkin, or life is yours to miss. I know you didn't mean any harm; you didn't know how it would affect me." Nalia snorted slightly. "Truthfully, I let down my guard, too, which didn't help." she added reluctantly. Nalia didn't like admitting when she messed up. Who did, after all? The black wolf studied Felkin, a slightly amused expression on her face. Element of surprise, huh? "Well, you definitely achieved that." She relaxed as he calmed down, and as he returned the gesture. Nalia wagged her tail a bit, showing him that yes, she was all right. Really. She was.
She listened to him talk, not once interrupting him, blue eyes intense. Amplifying power was something she never heard about, though she certainly wasn't going to second guess him. She had seen - felt, more like it - what it could do. The obvious pride in his voice made her tail wag. He didn't seem like an arrogant wolf, and it was good he was proud about his abilities. There was a difference at being arrogant and being proud in ones abilities. Nalia held his gaze with her own. "I don't accept that apology, Felkin, for you have nothing to apologize for." she said simply. "You would be a great addition to my pack, both for your power, and for you." Nalia tilted her head to one side. "Welcome to Martyr, friend Felkin."

Felkin blinked at her words. Forget regrets? How was that possible? His mind flashed to Maleras stricken face once more, and he felt the pang that accompanied it. Giving his head another quick shake to clear it, Felkin smile at Nalia. “Maybe it is also true that you cannot always be guarded, Alphess.” He said to her, his voice light and airy. “You are a wolf. Though we may pride ourselves son reason and logic, we still have the heart and soul of any of the creatures of this world. It may not be wise to smother yours.” He wagged his tail at her a moment, not even considering the ramification of just having told a much higher ranking wolf what to do. He snickered as he watched her tail begin to wave like his, admitting to himself that perhaps he concentrated too much on surprising her.
He watched her contemplate what he had told her about his abilities, excitement building in his chest as he saw her appreciation for his powers. He too understood the different between pride and arrogance, his passive posture but strong tone displaying that obviously. He smiled openly at her as she told him not to apologize for what he felt he had done, and then dipped his muzzle thankfully as she announced him as a Martyr wolf. “Thank you, my alphess.” He said, lifting his head to look into her face once more, his red eyes dancing with pleasure. “I will serve Martyr to the best of my abilities.” [/size]
