Oh, how fortunate it was to be blessed with a nice day! For the past while the land had been cursed with frigid winds and gloomy clouds, but on this afternoon it was but the opposite. The sun squeezed its way through the thick clouds, bathing the ground below in warmth and light, and there was only a soft breeze left to ruffle the wolf's fur. Through the trees came a wolf like none other, swathed in beautiful auburn tones with eyes that pierced the day like some of the sun's brightest beams. Her head was cocked upward, snout twitching faintly to catch aromas that lingered in the air. Her body posture, though defensive, held proud qualities that emitted a certain aura about Vienna's demeanor. She caught a scent, one that made her stomach flip and flop and her mind race. She finally had caught the scent of Martyr; the pack she had been scouting for all day. Such a task had proven to be difficult, their members might be small for all she knew. Her lips pulled back to display rows of pristine white teeth, ears flattening as she lingered out into the open. The sun shimmered down to greet her, warming her slowly and thoroughly to bring a sense of calmness to her body. In a single swift movement, the auburn maiden had placed her rump upon the ground and throw back her head. Her muzzle was shaped into a perfect o, as a long, beautiful, blissful howl erupted from her throat. It carried itself around the trees, across the field and through the shrubs, in hopes of landing in the path of Marty's Alpha, whoever he or she may be.
As the sound died down to nothing but a closing hush, she let her eyes move to her paws, momentarily filled with a tenderness that hadn't been there before. A new pack and a new family, meant letting go of her past. She had never expected it to hurt as much as it did at that very moment. What of her brothers? What of her grandparents? What had happened to them? Had they ever looked for her? Had they even cared? Though so many worries and questions that clouded the mind of Vienna, she knew she had made the right decision. It had all been for the best, and maybe her brothers had been inspired by her leave enough to part paths themselves. Everyone needed to fly from the nest sooner or later, didn't they? It had been Vienna's time; that she was sure of. She head twisted gently to the left, then to the right, as these busy thoughts slowly drained themselves from her mind, leaving nothing but a blank canvas in their wake. She was on full alert - prepared and ready - for whomever approached her first. These next few minutes were the ones that would set her future in stone. These moments would determine her fate.

Warmth was never a thing the brute had fancied. Regardless, he was stretched out on a rock, pale amber gaze scanning over his territory. The wolves under his reign were doing a number of things: fighting for the last scrap of food, sleeping, conversing with one another, and so on. So far, so uneventful. Days such as this bothered Amorin to wits end; they made him antsy.
His hind paws clicked against a rock, and he pushed himself forward. In the same instant, he rolled off his side and onto his belly. Pulling himself to a standing position, his ears shot at attention. Something was different about the air of the lands, although he couldn't pinpoint exactly what. Immediately after he stood, a breeze wafted through, answering the question he had just moments before; there was another wolf on his territory. Nails clicked against stone as Amorin hopped down from his resting place. His steady trot towards the newcomer's scent caused a light tick, tick to mingle with the growls, whimpers and howls of the pack.
The song of the newcomer enticed Amorin to continue on quicker; he was interested in meeting a potential Martyr wolf. A mixture of browns and grays flowed into his line of vision, and his pace slowed a bit. His tail and head lifted and he left out a short howl, letting the wolfess know he was near. "Hello there miss," the words melted off his tongue as smooth as butter. In a friendly, but strong tone, he continued on, "May I ask who you are, and what you are doing on my lands?"

Her pink tongue slithered from between her lips, licking at her chops quickly and efficiently. Her vibrant eyes darted around, squinting against the sun until a shape emerged into her a view. A male moved toward her, holding some kind of inferior aura about him and made her slightly uneasy. It made her hesitate, wonder, but she held her ground, perking up her chin to catch the sound that lifted trough the breeze. His howl echoed through the air, but now that he was visible it was hardly needed. She glided forward a few feet, in large, wide strides, to greet this stranger, with a faint smile tilting her lips upward. ''Hello,'' She purred, eyes giving him a quick once over, raising her tail but lowering her body slightly. She wanted to show off her pride, but let him now that she respected him. Mixed signals? Just a few.
''Believe it or not, I come here to ask for homage within your pack.'' She explained evenly, the smile tugging a little more at her lips, brightening her features. Her mind shuffled for a moment, and her brain took a step back, faltering. ''You are Alpha of Martyr, aren't you?'' She asked, a little more hostly, her invisible brow raised in question. If he was not, well that would surely be a teeny bit embarrassing! Either way, her eyes would stay locked on his body, posture somewhere in between submissive and dominant, with each of her five senses alert and functioning. She would hear every word murmured, catch every twitch, smell every scent carried in the mind, and taste the sweet taste of triumphant if this all went as planned. She was set up for success, and if things were to go wrong the outcome would be devastating. She was taking a huge risk here, and it took all of Vienna's courage to throw her past out the window and start anew. It would hurt every now and again - when memories would come back to haunt her - but once again, she knew that this was what was best.

"Hello," her voice was near a purr. The wolfess' posture intrigued him; she seemed very proud, but somewhat reserved. A smile crept over his mouth, and he shifted his weight from paw to paw, waiting for her to continue. "Believe it or not, I come here to ask for homage within your pack. You are Alpha of Martyr, aren't you?'' There was what he was waiting for.
A tiny gleam caught his eye. He tossed his head high, his body towering over hers. "I am Amorin, and yes I am the Alpha of this pack. May I ask who you are? His voice was booming and deep, and he used a tone that he only used when addressing his pack as a whole. His haunches dropped to the ground.
Snarls from the pack erupted behind him, causing Amorin to snort in disgust. "Stupid pack, can't even get along without my reign for a few minutes." He shook his mane of fur and brought his hind leg up to his scratch his ear. "Are you sure you want to be a part of this? They're a bunch of mangy mutts." Annoyance thickly coated his voice.
"Regardless, what could you offer my pack? Another mouth to feed, another spot in the den to give up. What would benefit us to give you a home? Food is already scarce as it is." He didn't mean to sound rude, but there were certain considerations he had to take in. The pack was his responsibility, he couldn't let a wolf enter who was just going to harm them.

Curt nods and brief smiles were bestowed from the woman, but in the end only several words oozed out from between her sultry lips. ''Well Amorin, it is my greatest pleasure to meet you,'' She cooed gently, keeping her aura bright and regal-sounding, to give off positive vibes and a good first impression. ''I'm Vienna.. and though your pack might have its issues, I could surely help tidy things up.'' She told him, words laced with silent promises and appealing devotion. Though the words would seem almost as a tease, she was serious, and he could have realized such a thing by looking within her emerald eyes. They were firm and boring into his body, unwavering, as these next few life-determining moments ticked away.
Vienna might feel inferior in his presence, but she took the chance of boldly stepping toward him, chin perked and energy radiating off of her like warm rays from the sun. She let the silence hang around them for a moment longer, before she explained her thoughts to the man that soon might be her Alpha. ''I can hunt, I can fight, I can scout; you name it and I will do it. I'm taking a chance my offering my services up to you, Amorin; I didn't expect this day to come so quickly. I will die to defend the pack, and if you give me a chance, I swear to not let you down. I can take control and lay down the law; m'dear, I be quite a witch when I want to.'' Her voice was almost a rumble, a proud, steady set of lyrics that intertwined the create a small speech of integrity. Of course, with a small wink at the end to top off her little explanation. Though not many words were spoken or heart-felt pleas were uttered, it was the plain-Jane truth, and Amorin should be able to easily see that. Perhaps it was the very way she held herself, or to the extent of tone she used when speaking, but Vienna believed she had a shot at greatness.
