He was very adventurous and curious which could be a good thing but also a bad thing. Crystal blue eyes scanned the scarlet forest he now found himself in. The leaves littered the ground and the trees as if it was the middle of autumn which Bristol knew to be false. Large orange tinted paws carried him through the undergrowth, the crisp leaves making it hard to get anywhere undetected. After many attempts of trying to pad through the leaves without making a sound, he gave up and began to trudge through the undergrowth. Ears pricked forward on top of his skull as he listened to see if any other creatures were present but none were detected. A sigh escaped the jaws of the handsome male wolf as he found a clearing in the forest. Glancing lazily around for a brief second, he made his way into the clearing and climbed up onto a large flat rock on top of a steep pile of boulders before stretching out on top of it and letting his front paws dangle off the edge. A small yawn stretched Bristol's jaws and he adjusted his position to get a bit more comfortable before sprawling his paws apart and laying his head down. His eyes and ears were still alert and he gazed down at the clearing his perch overlooked. He wasn't completely hidden from sight on his perch up on top of the large boulders but he wasn't going to complain. He would at least have the advantage over any intruders. Licking his lips, his sky blue eyes shone down on the clearing as he waited, somewhat hoping a deer or something would make it's way there. He could feel hunger beginning to claw it's way into his stomach.

Nalia loved traveling, though she never really had a chance to do it very often. Most of the time, she was busy with her pack, doing Alphess stuff. She didn't begrudge them that, of course. Her pack was on the top of her list to care about. But she had always had the itch in her paws to go out and see things. She liked to know what other places were like, other wolves, things like that. She could never get enough of it. She always came back to the pack, of course, but she definitely liked to see new places.
Unlike Bristol, her paw steps were silent as she padded through the leaves. It was springtime, and the leaves and flowers were in full bloom. The black wolf smiled slightly, ears flicking as she listened for sounds. Technically, she was in another pack's land, so she wouldn't dare hunt. Causing an incident would be bad, especially between the two packs. So all the did was look and wander. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught movement, and she halted. Another wolf was here. For a moment, she was worried it was an enemy wolf, but she relaxed slightly. She didn't recognize him, but that meant very little to her.
Curiously, Nalia approached the boulders. She made sure to make noise as she walked - she had a bad habit of sneaking up on others, accidentally. She didn't mean to, but it happened. Sapphire eyes curious, the she-wolf called up, "Enjoying the sun, neighbour?" Someone had once asked why she called everyone neighbour. Nalia had replied, with a cynical smile, that she called them that because she didn't know whether they were friends or not. This was definitely true in this situation...

The perfect balance. His ears remained alert though as he dozed off but his head quickly raised when he caught the scent of a she wolf coming his way. It wasn't long before he caught sight of her, a beautiful black she wolf for that matter. When she stopped at the foot of the boulders he was laying atop a smile slowly began to make it's way across his face as he shifted his weight so he was sitting up once more, yawning as he brought his body out of it's sleep mode.
"I am indeed." he answered as he shook out his fur, the sun landing on his coat and making the orange tint to it glow in the sunlight. Rising to all fours, Bristol climbed down off of the boulders, taking his time before leaping to the ground in one graceful motion. Turning his body to face the black she wolf, his own blue eyes looked into hers and another smile raised the corners of his mouth once more as he looked her over briefly.
"What brings a beautiful she wolf such as yourself here?" he asked her, tilting his head to the side a bit like a young pup would do. It was a habit of his, one that he had since he was a pup.

No matter what season battered the lands, this place was always beautiful. The midmorning light filtered through the trees and her tail wagged slightly. This was much different than back home, though she would always adore her home more. But it didn't mean she couldn't enjoy someone else's. Nalia wondered briefly what she was going to say if the alpha or from this packlands came and asked her, but she mentally shrugged. No sense in worrying about it now, it hadn't happened yet. She'd cross that river when she came to it, and that was that.
The black she-wolf watched the male leap from the boulders, standing alert but at ease. Strangely enough for her, she was more at ease with wolves she didn't know, because they didn't expect anything from her. Nalia's ear flicked as he came closer, and she sat, curling her tail around her paws. It looked like she was going to get company - not that it was a bad thing. Blue eyes met blue eyes and she couldn't help but smile black. "What's your name, neighbour? I'm called Nalia."The Alphess introduced herself with a slight dip of the head, only polite.
There was that word again. Nifth had once called her beautiful too, to her great puzzlement. For a moment, Nalia considered looking behind her to see if he was talking to someone else, but she dismissed the thought. Instead, she answered with her usual quiet voice, "I was looking around. It's very beautiful here, and I love all the colours." she admitted.

He silently wondered if she was a loner like him or if she was part of a pack but the thought wasn't important enough for him to ask her about it. At least not yet. When she introduced herself first he smiled once more and let his tail wag once before speaking his own name.
"My name is Bristol. And this place is indeed beautiful. I'm a loner and just happened to wander here. It was definitely worth the journey to get here. Do you come here often?" he asked her, wondering once more if she had a mate and a pack. Surely she at least had a mate, she was quite a divine she wolf and probably had a male that claimed her. Heck if being an alpha could get him a female as attractive as her, he might consider starting his own pack.
His light blue eyes glanced around them before coming back to look at her, a smile on his face still. She seemed at ease around him which was good because he had no intention of causing her any harm. In fact that was the last thing he wanted to do. Instead he found himself studying her. Her black coat shone in the sunlight and her light blue eyes sparkled with life. He felt his smile grow as he gazed at her, waiting for her to speak once more.

The other wolf didn't look like he was about to attack her - in fact, he seemed quiet relaxed. Sure, she was wary. Nalia didn't know him, after all, and strange wolves did strange things. But she stood at ease, her ears pricked forward in interest, her blue eyes bright on him. Nalia enjoyed meeting other wolves, although she could be a bit colder to them. But she had resolved to make herself a bit kinder, since she didn't want to send the wolf running in the other direction. That was greatly depress her.
"Not really. This is my first time, actually," she admitted, flicking her ear slightly. "I don't often go away from my pack, but I wanted to see for myself what this place was like." The colours were so different that back home. Here, they were ricer, earthier, different from the bright and vibrant colours of her home. Not a bad different, just... different. She was use to the vibrant colours that lit up the northern sky, not these reds, golds and brown that littered the floor. The black wolf shook the thoughts from her mind as she realized that he had introduced herself, and that she should probably do the same. Nalia dipped her head slightly at his greeting. "Pleased to meet you, Bristol. My name's Nalia."
Turning her gaze away from him, she studied the trees around her, eye bright with interesting, wondering absently why there were no trees like this back home... She hoped that he didn't recognize her name - being Alphess sucked at times, scaring other wolves into doing things. She wasn't like that. So Nalia remained relax, taking in her surroundings with almost a pup-like interest.

So this was the alphess of the Martyr pack, huh? He had heard of her before as well as the alpha male she ruled with, Amorin. He hadn't met either of them until now and was surprised to see how interested and playful almost this female looked. She didn't look like the stern and powerful she wolf he had heard about but you couldn't judge another based off rumors and whispered tales.
Bristol tilted his head a bit, watching her with amusement as she gazed around at all of the earthy tones the forest had to offer. He had to admit, it was rather lovely. His own light blue eyes glanced around them before returning to look at her. A smile made it's way across his muzzle once more before he finally spoke.
"You are Nalia? The alphess of Martyr? Well it is a pleasure indeed to meet you. What brings a high ranked female such as yourself out here alone? Surely your pack misses you. And your mate as well? I know that if I was lucky enough to have a female as fine as you, I would not want you to leave my side for fear another male might sweep you up and whisk you away." he answered, a flirtatious tone to his voice as his voice softened when he spoke the last part as if it was a secret.

Things were... different between them. They had been good friends, and she had willingly ruled their pack at his side, simply as friends. But after the meeting in the snow, maybe things would be different. Nalia wasn't good at expressing her emotions - her mother had conditioned her into thinking that emotions were weaknesses never to be shown. But maybe, just maybe, that wasn't true. She wasn't exactly sure, but she truly did like Amorin. A lot. Innerly, she had admitted that it might be more than that, but she wasn't about to comment on that. Right now, the Martyr pack was doing fine. Amorin was a very good Alpha, and she was proud to stand at his side. Who wouldn't, after all?
When Bristol mentioned her rank, she sighed. Great. He did know of her. How, she wasn't really sure, since she had rather hoped to keep it to herself. After all, she wasn't some crazy dictator. Nalia fought to keep her irritation from her face and voice as she spoke. "Yes, I am the Alphess of Martyr. But my pack does not depend on me for everything. Martyr is not that weak." No. Martyr was strong. They did not depend on one wolf for the strength of their pack. Nalia's blue eyes studied him for a moment - was that flattery? Then she let out a bark of laughter. "Why would anyone want to whisk me away, friend Bristol? I'm not nearly that beautiful, nor that important." she said, amusement heavy in her voice. She honestly didn't think she was worth that much, silly her. "I just wanted to travel for a bit. What about you?"

She seemed to not think of herself as beautiful or special but she most certainly was. As she spoke defensively about the Martyr pack not being weak he smiled once more and lowered his head as if to surrender.
"I was never implying Martyr was weak. On the contrary, I believe they are quite an impressive pack. Especially with you as their alphess." he replied, raising his head once more, a smile still playing at his mouth. When she asked him why anyone would want to whisk her away, he chuckled a bit as well.
"Oh but you are, my dear. I know I would do my best in trying to whisk you away, though I fear I would have little to no chance since fine ladies such as yourself probably wouldn't give a simple loner like me much of a chance." He added with a smile on his face. Planting his hind end on the ground, Bristol's light blue eyes gazed at Nalia with interest. She really was a different kind of female. She was confident in leading her pack but held herself at low value. He was curious as to why she didn't think of herself as the fine alphess she was but he didn't voice the question and instead waited to see what she would say in reply to his answers.
